CENTRAL VALLEY, CA – Donate and dine for free –
courtesy of Sal’s Mexican Restaurants and KJWL!
From January 2 through January 6, give
blood at a Central California Blood Center in Fresno and receive a
voucher good for a free lunch from Sal’s!
The foggy winter months can discourage
donors from keeping up their donation schedules… but this is a helpful
reminder to come in, give, help save up to three lives and in return,
receive a delicious lunch courtesy of Sal’s, KJWL and the Central
California Blood Center.
What could be better?
Plus, donors will receive a commemorative
T-shirt.
“Donating blood is a rewarding experience because
you walk away with the feeling that you have helped to save up to three
lives.
With the Sal’s/KJWL blood drive you also
have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious “thank you” lunch at one of
the best restaurants in our Central Valley – for free,” said Chris
Sorensen, Director of Community Relations and Development for the
Central California Blood Center. “We are encouraging everyone to take
part in this week-long blood drive – come in, help save a life and walk
away with a voucher for a fabulous lunch.”
Blood donation
takes less than one hour to complete. Donors must be in good general
health, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old (16
years old with written parental consent). Senior citizens are encouraged
to donate, as there is no upper age limit. Donors should eat a good meal
and drink plenty of water within 4 hours prior to their donation. Donors
can give blood every eight weeks. Photo ID
and Social Security Number are required at donor registration.
The
Central
California
Blood
Center
is the sole provider of blood and blood products for the 31 hospitals in Fresno, Tulare, Madera, Kings and
Mariposa
Counties and
must collect between 5,000 to 6,000 pints of blood a month to meet the
needs of our Valley community.
